WATER DEPARTMENT
The College View subdivision is located a half mile west of Route 53 on the North side of Airport Road in Lockport Township of Will County, Illinois. Water is supplied to the subdivision by community wells that are owned and operated by the College View Community Association, which is a non for profit organization.
The water system is a public water supply, system number IL1975400, that is regulated by the IEPA. The system consists of four shallow wells located throughout the subdivision, and 3 storage tanks that hold a total of 25,000 gallons of water. The water is distributed throughout the subdivision through 9,000 feet of four inch water mains. The system provides an adequate supply of water for the 188 homes within the subdivision. In accordance with IEPA regulations, daily water samples are collected and analyzed for proper content of chlorine and flouride. These test results are then forwarded to the IEPA on a monthly basis and can be viewed by visiting the IEPA Drinking Water Watch Website.
The Association is responsible for maintenance of the water mains up to, but not including, the buffalo boxes and service line shut-off valves. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to provide a service line shut-off valve that is above ground level and operative. Each home has its own individual septic system that is the sole responsibility of the homeowner.
Water usage is billed bi-monthly at a flat rate of $80.00 for two months. Homeowners are billed on the first of the month in January, March, May, July, September, and November for the prior two months. For your convenience, the Association gives home owners the option to prepay their water bill for up to a year in advance (six billing cycles), and to receive and pay their bill electronically by registering through the website.
